What we look at
An IT quote is rarely wrong outright – it's usually just not tailored to you. The line items where we most often find room to save:
- Licences nobody uses. Seats purchased for employees who left long ago, or packages with features you've never switched on.
- Contract terms and notice periods. Contracts that automatically renew for another year, even though monthly billing would be possible.
- Services billed twice. Backup included in the hosting contract, and again as a separate product. It happens more often than you'd think.
- Storage and compute at list price. Sized for a peak that occurs twice a year.
- Support that doesn't match your needs. A 24/7 response time costs money. If your business closes at 5 pm, you may not need it.
